Tony was excellent diagnosing and treating my daughter's Mortons. Extremely knowledgeable and reassuring. Would definitely recommend him.

Saw Anthony with a painful achilles, having problems walking & struggling to find comfortable shoes. Examined the foot & fitted with customised orthotics, given exercises & advice. Started to notice improvement. Had shock wave therapy, which reduced the pain & thickening around my ankle. Really happy with the treatment, friendly & professional approach. Would highly recommend.

Angela Hussey

Brilliant treatment from Tony. I had been really struggling with chronic plantar fasciitis and was recommended to try shockwave treatment and wow what a difference in 4 treatments. I am walking without pain! No pain getting out of bed after 6 months of hobbling around I am back running with friends again! Thanks Tony

Common Treatments

The conditions we most commonly treat:

Plantar fasciitis / Heel pain

This condition is a chronic degeneration or inflammation of the thick band of fascia in the bottom of the foot. This problem can be severely painful. It may feel like walking on glass or having a hot poker pushed into the foot. Sometimes the pain can be worse first thing in the morning.

The treatment for this condition is a variety of therapeutic treatments and rehabilitation exercises.

Morton's Neuroma

This condition affects the forefoot, often between the third and fourth toe. The pain often builds as you walk. It feels like an electric shock or burning type of pain. There are a variety of treatments available for this problem.

Nail Issues Callus and Corns

Whether it be hard skin or painful ingrowing nails. We can treat it all with the latest equipment and expertise.

Achilles tendinopathy

The achilles tendon inserts into the back of the heel and is the strongest tendon in the body. When it gets injured it can cause pain, discomfort and swelling. The treatment depends on the location of the pain within the tendon and muscle. Treatment is focused around getting the patient back to their activities.

Services

Routine Podiatry

Biomechanics & Gait Assessment

gait analysis and assessment - runner on treadmill

Pain in the foot or lower limb? Joint, muscle, tendon or difficulty when walking or performing your favourite activities. This appointment is for any musculoskeletal condition of the foot or ankle such as plantar fasciitis, muscle or tendon injury, sprains or ligament damage, joint pain or bony deformity.

In the initial Musculoskeletal consultation you will receive a one-on-one with an Advanced Musculoskeletal Podiatrist who will go through the history of the presenting complaint and conduct a physical examination and appropriate clinical tests.

An assessment of the gait will be undertaken using a video camera to analyse any abnormalities.

By the end of this appointment a clear treatment plan will be in place on how the condition is going to be treated to best achieve your goals.

There will be allocated time at the end of the appointment for any questions that you may have about your condition and treatment.

Nail Surgery

This involves a permanent fix to your ingrowing toenail. Done in under 1 hour a local anaesthetic is administered into the area and a minor surgical procedure is undertaken to remove the painful piece of nail. This is a long term solution to your ingrowing toenail.

Custom Insole

podiatrist fitting custom orthotic insole

We provide advanced 3D scanned custom insoles. These insoles, or foot orthotics, are precisely customised and tailored to each patient's unique needs. These offer comfort and personalised insoles that fit like a dream.

Shockwave Therapy

shockwave therapy being applied to foot

We use the EMS Dolocast Radial Shockwave which is a premium high energy shockwave therapy device which is unmatched in performance and the leading machine in the industry. The same machine is used by Premier League football teams and Olympic athletes.

Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive, non-surgical clinically proven and highly effective treatment for long-standing musculoskeletal tissue injuries.

The treatment process itself works by generating high-energy impulses through a medical device and applied to the area of pain. The way it works is it increases blood circulation to the target area which then promotes the body's healing.

Some examples of conditions that are treated with shockwave therapy:

  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Achilles tendinopathy
  • Quadriceps tendinopathy
  • Trochanteric Bursitis (pain on the outside of the hip)
  • Hamstring tendinopathy
  • Peroneal tendinopathy
  • Posterior tibia tendon dysfunction

Steroid Injections

steroid injection

Corticosteroids, otherwise known as Steroids are used in Injection therapy to ease inflammation found in joints and other soft tissue structures such as bursae. A steroid injection often contains a mixture of both the steroid itself and a local anaesthetic.

The conditions this is used for include Morton's neuroma, 1st MPJT OA (big toe joint osteoarthritis), acute plantar fasciitis and retrocalcaneal bursitis.

Rehabilitation

foot rehabilitation exercises

A rehabilitation programme can be assigned to you and to assist your lower limb in improving the function of the muscular structure that supports your foot and lower limb.

Your Podiatrist will prescribe and allocate appropriate exercises to your condition. This programme will be personalised to you and your condition. The programmes are delivered to improve your pain, functionality and are a vital aid
